The New Feminine
Pretty is back, but not in the traditional sense. Our new collection for spring 2017 has evolved feminine style into an aesthetic that’s classic with a soft eclectic spin. This scheme embraces the colour trend ‘organic matter’ combining soft dusky pinks and frosted eucalyptus with deep earthy green to create a gender-neutral balance. This collection embraces texture, layering sumptuous velvets with abstract botanical patterns to offer a contemporary spin on traditional florals.
With impeccable design and superb craftsmanship at the soul of our business, our Head of Product Design- John O’Leary, talks us through the key features of our new collection.
The Sophia design is at the heart of this collection with its enveloping curves highlighting the skilled craftsmanship used to create its elegant show wood frame. The radius detailing on the outer edge of the frame takes an extremely steady hand and a careful eye to maintain its consistency. The preparation of the frame alone takes two undercoat layers to make it smooth and remove the grain.
Curved back sofas are designed to be in the centre of the room and be walked around, so to make a feature of the Sophia’s sweeping back use contrasting or patterned fabrics to emphasise this detailing further.
Brushed finishes are classic and the Warwick range complements this theme beautifully. Brass & bronzes are coming through a lot this season as they offer a softer, more versatile aesthetic. This range incorporates four different finishes so seamlessly, combining fluted suede upholstery, bevelled marble, brushed brass and a gloss walnut veneer.
