Styling Your Home for Easter
Styling your home for Easter
The Easter weekend is the ideal weekend to indulge in child-like fantasies of chocolate for breakfast, the laughs of an Easter Bunny egg hunt and a delicious Sunday roast meal, spent seated around a luxuriously set dining table. Gathering around the dining table to celebrate the Easter holiday is often where many of your most cherished memories and heartfelt conversations take place. Taking the time to ensure that all of your guests feel welcome, charmed and festive is an important factor to consider. We believe your table-set should reflect a perfect balance between Easter inspiration and an elegant dining style.
As the April weekend commences, it is also a time that we celebrate the arrival of Spring. A season filled with opportunity, warmer weather and an abundance of gorgeous budding flowers that bring cities and country-sides alike brilliant pops of colour. The fresh morning dew and the aroma of cherry blossoms can inspire the essence of your Easter dining table, think touches of whimsical floral arrangements and inspirational colour combinations.
Choosing a Theme
When planning your festive dining table, we recommend that you first plan out the theme and colour palette you love most. Identifying the colours you want to use will guide any other décor choices you have to make, regarding tableware, table runners, flower selections or Easter themed decorations. At The Sofa and Chair Company, we love to keep things as luxurious and as sophisticated as possible, while still enjoying the fun of a themed table. We have included tips on how best to achieve a perfect combination of dining sophistication and festive fun.
Interior Styling Tips
Inspired by the theme of spring-fresh, our expert interior design team suggests starting off with a clean and fresh base, using either a white or cream table cloth or table runner. Here, we chose to use a cream linen table runner so we could show off the gorgeous ice jade marble tabletop of our Charlotte dining table. The sleek look and feel of the marble top brings about a striking combination of modern contemporary against a more timeless and floral Easter setting.
We recommend that the centrepiece of your dining table is a floral show stopper, with hints of Easter-themed decorations uniquely intertwined. For example, the use of pale yellow and white tulips, subtle pink peonies and earthy toned green foliage work well in combination as they bring cheerful energy to the centre of the table that everyone can enjoy.
More Easter Decor...
As featured here, our interior designers have displayed the floral arrangement to run stylishly across the entire tabletop - using the line of your table runner as a guide, the centrepiece will look more expertly planned and will enhance the sophistication of the setting.
Alongside your centrepiece, your Easter themed decorations can be as bold or as subtle as you wish. We recommend including Easter bunny figures, wooden woven baskets and of course a selection of scattered chocolate eggs across the table to emphasise the playfulness of the Easter celebration. To keep things more stylised, we suggest choosing decorations that are of a more neutral colour, such as elegant whites, golds or silvers allowing for your chosen centrepiece colours to blend well with any other table accessories you choose.
Blending well with the colours of our floral arrangement, we have featured golden eggs, white porcelain bunny figures and two grand glass bowls of miniature chocolate eggs wrapped in gold foil. Adding to the light and aromatic sense of spring, our designers also included the use of the Eichholtz Collection candle holders as a decorative anchor the centre of the floral arrangement.
When setting your tableware, we suggest keeping things simple; using white porcelain plates and classic silverware. However, to ensure that the table is still bold enough to charm your guests, consider stacking your plates from large to small to give a more formalised effect as featured here. With a fun and playful combination of patterns on the outer edge of the dinner plates, our Soie Tressee Dessert Plate and Perlee Dinner Plates were perfect for this more playful setting. Placed alongside the stacked plates, we used gold-hued cutlery which work well with all other golden table accessories. Choose stylish coasters and your most luxurious wine glasses to ensure the essence of luxury is still emphasised across the entire table.
